The Fourth Year: Trimm Travels Turns Four!
Four years.
Trimm Travels is four years old today.
Last year, I couldn’t believe it turned three. This year, for some reason, it’s a little easier to believe that my blog is now four. Okay, sometimes I do think, “really?” but for the most part, I think “really!”. I guess that’s a good thing since it’s most definitely real! It’s kind of like when I had a hard time turning 20 and 30; however, when I turned 40, I embraced it and went with it. That is pretty much how I’ve felt about my blog turning four today. This year also brought with it some differences. The most notable being the current global situation of 2020. This, of course, cut out travel altogether for most of the fourth year. But on positive notes, once again, I was able to cross items off my bucket list. I also met another huge goal for Trimm Travels.
Before I reveal that goal, I will start by reporting a 104% increase in traffic. While that isn’t as great as the previous year’s 171% growth, I’m happy with it since traffic tanked for all travel websites half-way into my fourth year of blogging. So 104%? I will take it!
I also attended another fantastic travel blogging conference where I formed new partnerships with brands and destinations that would prove (sooner than later) to be even more valuable than I ever imagined. And as every year in the past and I suspect every one in the future, I learned more about myself. This is always priceless knowledge.
Now, for the next major goal I was so proud to achieve…
Last year, I completed my goal of becoming a member of the North American Travel Journalists Association (NATJA). This year, my first as a member, I won a NATJA travel photography award! It was for the following photo which was published in my Patagonia Animals post from March 2019.
“The Odd Couple”
