Travel

A: I never start off the year with a full calendar. More often than not, my trips come out of opportunity with bucket list desires sprinkled in!

A: It’s like comparing apples and oranges. Everywhere is so unique and different, it’s really hard to choose. Here are a few of my favorite destination insights!

A: Using MANY different resources including (but not limited to) Pinterest, TripAdvisor, various travel apps, and general online travel research (like travel blogs 😉).

A: I typically don’t travel solo. There is the occasional solo trip but I primarily travel with friends and other travelers or content creators.

A: Trip-planning—yes. Trip booking—no. I can offer trip planning services as far as building a full itinerary complete with all the details and links needed to book. However, all bookings must be done by you. If you are interested in this service, please contact me.

Blogging

A: It’s pretty simple actually. My last name is Trimm and it went well with Travels. This Trimm does travel so Trimm Travels it was! 😁

A: Trimm Travels was conceptualized in 2015 but didn’t launch until August 2016. The quick answer on the why is because it more or less fell into my lap. After receiving so many travel-related questions, I decided it was time to put all of that info in one place where it could be shared with all of you. A mutual friend introduced me to a very experienced travel blogger and the rest, as they say, is history!

Thinking Out Loud: Ever wonder who “they” are? Because let’s face it, “they” seem to have everything figured out…😆

A: I have not up to this point and Trimm Travels turned 7 in August 2023. However, I am seriously considering opening it up to guest authors. If you are interested, please contact me to get on the waitlist.

Fair Warning: I am quite picky and will have strict guidelines. I hold myself to a high standard and will expect the same from any guest authors.

A: Unfortunately, I can not but I am considering opening up my site to guest posts. If you are interested in contributing, please contact me.

A: This is a trick question, right? 😉 Honestly, keeping it real, there are so many definitions of success and everyone determines it differently. I feel like it isn’t a competition or fair to compare yourself with anyone else in the industry. Having said that, when readers began reaching out to say they had the time of their life due to something they read on my blog (a destination, tour, restaurant, etc) or that my tips helped save them money, time, or made things easier, that is success to me. Helping YOU, the reader is my ultimate goal with Trimm Travels!

From a business standpoint:

  • When I began regularly securing partnerships around the world in my 2nd year of blogging, I felt successful.
  • When I qualified for Mediavine (the most popular full-service ad management platform) before my blog turned 3*, I felt successful. (*prior to the June 2020 change in qualification requirements.)
  • When I qualified and was accepted into North American Travel Journalists Association (NATJA), Society of American Travel Writers (SATW), and the International Food Wine and Travel Writers Association (IFWTWA), I felt successful.
  • When I won my three photography awards from the NATJA in as many years, I felt successful. UPDATE: As of March 2023, make that five photography awards in four years!

Miscellaneous

A: A few different ones. Currently, a Canon SX740 HS, a Canon 80D, a GoPro Hero7 Black, and my iPhone 13 Pro. And the brand new kid on the block is my DJI Mini 3. Footage coming soon!

A: Hey there! Please see Work With Me for more information and contact information. 🙏🏼

A: Sí … hablo español. I speak Spanish conversationally and am working to become fluent.

A: Start with these 25 things about me!

A: Drop me a line here and hopefully I can answer it!
