So the big game is tomorrow…for those not from this crazy football state of Alabama, that means the Iron Bowl, aka the Auburn/Alabama game! I would argue (as would most people in this state and I dare say college football) that this is easily the biggest rival game in college football! There are great rivalries everywhere, but very few go a strong 365 days of the year like this one! I remember when I moved to Birmingham when I was almost ten. The kids in my new class wanted to know if I was an Auburn or Alabama fan first before they wanted to know my name! Yep, it gets a bit ridiculous, but welcome to football in Alabama! I honestly thought this was how every state went about rivalries and college football until I lived outside of Alabama and found out that is not the case! So for the last regular game of the 2016 season, I thought I’d do one last football outfit!
It has finally gotten cooler in Alabama! This past weekend it was actually cold, getting down into the low 30s, but it’s back up to the high 60s now. Since the Iron Bowl is a 2:30pm CST game tomorrow, this outfit would be perfect! I am a proud, third-generation graduate (not just fan) of Auburn University and so you will see me in a lot of orange and navy especially during the fall! I love, love, love the cut of this navy and white horizontal striped dress!
It’s very flattering on all body types including curvy ones like mine! It is extremely comfortable with its swing style and it’s the perfect length (for reference, I’m 5’6″ tall)!
I paired it with a rust colored infinity scarf and tall boots in taupe! I completed the outfit with my trusty gold Stella & Dot hoop earrings and that’s it! The scarf does double duty for eliminating the need for a necklace and providing warmth when the sun sets! Speaking of the sun, this is what the colors look like in the sunlight! The blue is a true navy! 😉
The nail color I chose for this outfit is an older OPI color. I love to try the new colors, but sometimes I just like my oldie but goodies, you know? This is OPI Holiday Glow from the Holiday Wishes Collection 2009. I love it because it’s a rich chocolate color with a fine gold glitter/shimmer that spices it up a bit! Perfect for Thanksgiving yesterday too!
I got the dress, boots, and scarf from Mint Julep Boutique. They don’t have a storefront, but you can purchase from their website! They have a great return policy and are easy to work with! The earrings are from Stella & Dot and the nail color is OPI but is discontinued. However, I saw just now that you can still get it on eBay or you can put a gold shimmer over a chocolate brown color to achieve a similar look! 🙂
I hope everyone had a Happy Thanksgiving! I can’t believe the Christmas season is now here!! Can’t wait to share Christmas looks with you!
Until then…
Trimm Travels,
Heather
