25 Things About Me
God is first and I’m grateful!
Graduate of Auburn University with a Bachelor of Science in Nursing and a minor in Spanish. War Eagle and Go Tigers!

I speak Spanish conversationally and am currently working to become fluent.
For 7 years (including two as a travel RN), I practiced critical care, trauma, neurosurgery, and neuro-oncology nursing in four states.
I currently have a Maltese named Lexie and a Mi-Ki named Cruz. Prior to this, I had a Maltese Mafia!

Avid reader, (in-theater) movie buff, zipline junkie, and escape room addict. To date, I’ve done 61 escape rooms (and counting)!

Favorite foods: sushi and poke. Okay, really anything Japanese or in the Asian realm. 🤷🏻♀️ My favorite drink is a grape martini (not currently available) and a salted caramel chocolate martini (made by yours truly). For the holidays I also love a good chocolate peppermint martini or a chocolate cherry martini!

Favorite color: hot pink
Extreme dislikes: cucumbers, cinnamon, and whipped cream
Avid fan of Broadway and musicals in general
I do my best thinking in the shower, on airplanes, ziplines, and roller coasters (you know while you make that slow haul to the top). 😳 I can’t tell you how many of my best ideas were (and continue to be) conceived during these four activities!

Personality Flaws: Type A to a fault, function best in a routine
I’ve appeared in 10+ films and TV shows. I’m also a true crime junkie and previously appeared live weekly on HLN discussing the most famous cases across the United States.

Football is a passion, particularly college football (and especially Auburn football). I’m a former college recruiter and can hold my own during any football game discussion.
I’ve had 7 operations. Most recently an emergency appendectomy over summer of 2021. So much fun!

I got my first tattoo at age 30 after making myself wait 7 years to BE SURE (that whole permanence thing and all..). For my 30th birthday, I celebrated by gifting myself said tattoo (5 colors, taking nearly 3 hours to complete). I learned a great lesson in delayed gratification and I highly recommend it!
UPDATE: I got my second, third, and fourth (smaller) tattoos for my 40th birthday and I waited 10 years for them! I’m already thinking about a fifth one and I won’t be waiting 7-10 years this time! 😉
UPDATE 2: I didn’t wait 7-10 years for #5. That came in March 2018. Yes, there are plans for more. Stay tuned…🤔
While I love all destinations…winter, snow, and mountains over summer, sand, and beaches!
I got a C in handwriting in grade school. My Type A emerged and that C soon became an A and now I’m asked to write and paint on windows, posters, and even have done calligraphy for invitations! This is a great example of #12….
I turned down an instrumental music performance scholarship. While I read sheet music to play clarinet and piano, I sing by ear. I’m an alto and prefer harmony over the melody.
I’m very artistic but can’t design to save my life and it drives me crazy!
Will try most anything once…

Scrapbooking preceded blogging and I’ve made several that I’m proud of. It’s how my love for photography started and what led me to have so many detailed photos of places I’ve been to over the years.
Proud Daughter of the American Revolution
I previously had an unhealthy obsession with soda (Diet Coke if you must know) and only allow myself to drink it when traveling. See how it impacted my significant weight loss!
I am a New Year’s Eve Bicentennial baby 😀
BONUS: I am part of the Traveler’s Chill Lounge, a group averaging 50 people who met during the lockdown on an audio app called Clubhouse. In May 2021, 35 of us met up in Florida and we now have various meetups with various members almost weekly all over the world!
