Recently, as in just a few weeks ago, I had the exciting opportunity to visit a bucket list destination-Patagonia! Because we started and ended the trip in Buenos Aires, we decided to add on a few extra days to explore the capital city of Argentina. When I was researching where to stay in Buenos Aires, I looked for unique served with sides of convenience, and yummy food to start my day (otherwise known as breakfast inclusion 😉). And with that, I found Hotel Club Francés!Where to Stay in Buenos Aires
Hotel Club Francés
Originally a private club for prominent French influencers, Hotel Club Francés is a boutique townhouse hotel located in the very upscale neighborhood of Recoleta in Buenos Aires. As its name suggests, Hotel Club Francés boasts a French-style architecture. This pairs nicely with its French decor and together, they invoke the sense of a small, Parisian paradise.
The Lobby
The lobby sets both an elegant and dramatic tone.

The combination of the floor’s recessed lighting with the mahogany paneling and color-block features on the furniture and the walls keeps the eye dancing yet soothes the mind.
Right off the lobby, you will find the hotel’s bar where one can have a drink to decompress from the day or spend time catching up with friends.

There’s a grand marble staircase and if you look up, you will be treated to a gorgeous stained glass ceiling. While we were there, we heard the sound of beautiful, live music coming from up above. Curious, we followed that sound which led us up the stairs to find musicians rehearsing for an upcoming performance for the Queen of Denmark!

The Rooms
I love that there are only 28 guestrooms-it made me feel like we were the only ones in residence. With a variety of options from spacious double rooms to suites with jacuzzis, there is something for everyone.
The suites are enormous with hardwood floors and beautiful French toile decor. The interior design also includes historic charm, antique furnishings, and beautiful mahogany features.

Just look at that mahogany and gold detailing above the bed…
It complements the gold pulls on the mahogany nightstands perfectly! Oh, and before I get way off track in dreamland, the beds with their Egyptian cotton sheets are super comfortable. They do the job of inducing sleep quite well. 😴

Additionally, you can relax on the fluffy couch of the quaint sitting area while you have a cup of tea…
Or, enjoy a nice glass of wine as you step out onto your balcony.
The Bathrooms
In the bathrooms, there’s nothing but the best with silver and gold faucets

and plush robes with a luxurious amount of space. If you like a large bathroom, Hotel Club Francés is definitely the place for you!
Here are the high-end toiletries and amenities kits they provide!
The Terrace
Soak up the Argentine sun in lounge chairs on the rooftop terrace. There’s also a gym, sauna rooms, and a Finnish shower!

Dining
Food, glorious, food. Dining is an important part of any experience and I’m happy to report that you will want to work reservations at the Hotel Club Francés Restaurant into your culinary plans. I’m sure it comes as no surprise that the menu has both French and European influence.
You can dine in the interior which exudes sophistication…
or out in the bright, cheery solarium which is where we had both breakfast and lunch.

Definitely an inspiration of French elegance, right?
Breakfast
Breakfast was included with our stay and offered a variety of options. Along with an array of pastries, cereals, yogurt and fruit, there is also an a la carte menu to order from.

You can get pancakes, eggs your way and so much more.

My favorite was probably all the choices of condiments to put on the bread and pastries. Yes, easy to please, I might be. However, ANY opportunity for more dulce de leche is ALWAYS a good thing. No really…sorry Nutella, but you don’t come close to dulce de leche in Buenos Aires!
Lunch
For lunch, we had the choice of a three-course menu or a two-course menu, both of which included a nonalcoholic beverage. Naturally, we chose three courses, of course! 😜

We started off with the Ensalada de Verdes for our appetizers.

For my main course, I went with the Mushroom Risotto and my friend Cindy chose the Ratatouille.

Both were extremely good and very filling.

Despite being full, there’s always room for dessert, right? I got the Pineapple Carpaccio with citrus gel, passion fruit, and lemon sorbet. Cindy went with the Crème Brûlée.

We thoroughly enjoyed them, although I couldn’t finish mine. My tank was full. Full and happy!
And you thought we were done didn’t you? Ha, nope!
After dessert, they brought out tea and little after-lunch treats. I had to pass on tea (again with the full tank) but I did eat one of the gummy treats…well, after a break that lasted several minutes, that is.
Location, Location, Location
Convenience as I mentioned, is one of the things I looked for when researching where to stay in Buenos Aires. Not only was Hotel Club Francés located in the quiet, nice neighborhood of Recoleta, but it was also close to the following:
Recoleta Cemetery
Only a 9-minute walk from the Hotel, Recoleta Cemetery is not something you want to miss. I have never seen another cemetery like it. Plus, it is the final resting place of Evita.
El Ateneo Grand Splendid is less than a 15-minute walk away and is the coolest bookstore I have ever seen. It’s an old theater, can’t you tell?
Then, there’s the Floralis Genérica which is a 20-minute walk from the Hotel. You have to see the 105-foot-wide aluminum steel flower that “blooms” each morning!

PROS: Quiet, upscale neighborhood, fabulous food with breakfast included, fast wifi, strong air conditioner, spacious rooms, helpful and friendly staff to assist with travel plans, airport transportation (for a fee), within walking distance to major attractions, a 24/7 convenience store located two doors down.
CONS: The only con I had is that there was no refrigerator in our room. While this isn’t exactly a necessity, it is nice to be able to keep cold drinks readily available after coming in from a warm climate.

So, who’s ready to head to Buenos Aires now that you have the perfect hotel recommendation? 😁Really though…quiet, upscale neighborhood, spacious rooms, wonderful food and convenient location does make Hotel Club Francés an ideal choice, don’t you think?

Trimm Travels,
I love properties with French influence which makes it so beautiful. The entire property looks luxurious and that breakfast looks yummy. Would love to explore this when in Buenos Aires.
Hi Ketki-It is definitely luxurious with fabulous food-highly recommend staying here if you visit Buenos Aires. Thanks for reading! 🙂
This hotel looks amazing!! I love how close it is to the bookstore and the cemetery. And the food!! I usually find that hotel food isn’t that great but this looks delicious … especially the creme brulee 🙂
Hi Joanne-I hear you…I usually find the same with hotel food except with luxury ones like Hotel Club Francés. I think what impressed me was not only was the food excellent, but their plating was beautiful and creative. Highly recommend staying there and eating there. Thanks for reading! 🙂
How extravagant! The solarium alone is wonderful. I heard wonderful things about Recoleta, and this justifies it wholeheartedly! I’d have to stop myself from spending all my time inside. Thanks for these tips!
Hi Yara-Right?? That solarium was just awesome!! I mean, what a way to start your day and have lunch too! Hope you get to visit soon. Recoleta and Buenos Aires as a whole are so much fun. Thanks for reading! 🙂
Wow, what a grand place to stay in Paris and in a perfect location too which for us is the most important thing! I love the details and the different dining areas too. It seems like it would be a perfect place to relax after a day exploring.
Hi Nic-It might look a little Parisian but it’s in Buenos Aires :). The details and the dining areas are fabulous. Thanks for reading! 🙂
Thank you Trimm for sharing your experience. I personally find Hotel Club Francés a must to visit hotel in Buenos Aires!
That is truly elegant and stylish. It’s so great to stay somewhere with atmosphere, and this has it by the bucketload (clearly a silver ice bucket outlined in scrolls and with elegant tongs). It’s the little touches too: all those different fruits at breakfast, eggs how you, not they, like them and that rather stunning lunch. Mine would definitely be the pineapple carpaccio and lemon sorbet – it looks wonderful! I’d have a problem leaving.
Hi Bernie-It was pretty incredible for all the reasons you have stated and more! The pineapple carpaccio was amazing! The food was fantastic and the atmosphere details…you just couldn’t ask for better! Highly recommend staying here if you get down to Buenos Aires. Thanks for reading! 🙂
Looks like a fabulous hotel and the Recoleta area is just fantastic. Did you get a chance to take a food tour while you were there Heather? Check out our blog for a bit on that if not and you will have to go back … you as a foodie would love it.
Hi Michael-Oh yes, I took a food tour! Most definitely! I will post soon on what all I did and ate in Buenos Aires! And yes, Recoleta is awesome and the hotel was fantastic. Thanks for reading! 🙂
I haven’t been to Argentina yet, but if I ever travel there for business, Hotel Club Francés would be one of the accommodation options to explore. French-style architecture is always quite appealing. The interior decoration is also tastefully done. Great review!

What an amazing looking hotel! I love the boutique feel to it. The food looks incredible too. I’d definitely stay!
Hi Emily-I loved its boutique feel too and the food was so fabulous. Hope you get to go! Thanks for reading! 🙂
I’m actually considering Argentina, and Buenos Aires, as a possible destination for my mom and mine’s trip next year. I’ve never been anywhere in South America, so I wasn’t sure what the hotel situation would be like. But this sounds like the type of place you’d find in Europe! It sounds, and looks, absolutely delightful. That food!! I’m drooling over here.
Hi Maggie-I HIGHLY recommend South America and definitely Argentina. And if you go to Argentina, you have to see its capital, Buenos Aires. This hotel was just like staying in a luxury European hotel for sure. Look into it for you and your mom-I think you would love it! Thanks for reading! 🙂
What gorgeous decor and interiors! I love the stately and manor-esque feel – those beautiful taps in the bathroom! I want them! And those mahogany lamps too. The location is ideal – I imagine for many travellers a visit to the Recoleta Cemetery is a must and high on their list, so good to know it’s only a short walk away. And it’s always good to see breakfast included in the stay and a variety of options to suit all tastes. Beautiful!
Hi Juliette-I know, I wanted to go home with some of the decor too! Yes, the Cemetery is a huge tourist attraction and is very close to the hotel which is quite convenient. The food was definitely fabulous. Check out Hotel Club Francés if you get to go to Buenos Aires. Thanks for reading! 🙂
