My two-week tour of Switzerland was amazing! We already visited Lucerne, Zürich, Zermatt, and Geneva and had a great time! Next, we headed to Montreux! Once again, we had an easy time getting there using our Swiss Travel Pass from Rail Europe. I was really excited to visit the Montreux Riviera! The lake, the shoreline, the mountains, great food and great shopping…what’s not to love? I am excited to share with you where to stay and eat…the best of Montreux!Where To Stay
Eurotel Montreux
We stayed right on the water at the Eurotel Montreux, a four-star hotel that couldn’t have been more perfect!
It has a quirky, but trendy and modern vibe. Upon entering, we saw this interesting sculpture and the lobby boasted a grand piano and unique artwork!
Our room was nice and spacious…
The beds were the kind you remember…you know, the ones you never want to get out of because they are luxuriously comfortable? Yes, those!
The best feature of the room, however, was the balcony…
and the absolutely STUNNING views it presented! I could sit out here all day!
Made the perfect backdrop for the welcome treats they left us
This was the view of the other direction from our room. Montreux is gorgeous!
Look at these sunrise, mid-day and sunset views from the hotel!
Where To Eat
Restaurant Safran
We had dinner on our first night at Restaurant Safran which is located in the Eurotel.
To start, I had the duck liver foie gras with strawberries and a balsamic reduction. It was amazing as was the spinach and ricotta ravioli I had for my entrée!
Dessert was also fabulous. All you have to mention is caramel and I’m in!
The terrace has beautiful views of the lake and is the perfect place to go after work or just to catch up with friends.

Restaurant Bel Horizon
Also located in the Eurotel, Restaurant Bel Horizon was where we enjoyed breakfast with this view of Lake Geneva and the Alps each morning.
You could also sit inside (although I’m not sure exactly why you’d want to…well, okay I’ll give you that winter thing!) and they had a variety of foods on their breakfast buffet or…
you could get made-to-order entrees like this French toast. It’s one of their specialties and I HIGHLY recommend it!
Le Café Littéraire
Le Café Littéraire is a cute place for lunch right on the lake in Vevey.
They have a great selection of entrees and appetizers
and they even make several different flavors of their own homemade lemonade!
KJU
KJU, also located in Vevey, features Mediterranean cuisine with Asian and American flairs.
I took complete advantage of their special that night. The lobster did NOT disappoint!
La Brasserie J5
La Brasserie J5 has a French flair and an impressive menu ranging from seafood and burgers to salads, vegetarian dishes and pasta. I had the pappardelle with chanterelles (mushrooms) and zucchini in a light butter sauce. Delicious!
Café Très
The fresh goat cheese stuffed cannelloni with San Valentino ham in a melon sauce was amazing. Seriously some of the best flavors I’ve ever tasted. If you are looking for a great French restaurant in Montreux, definitely go to Café Très!
Are you wanting to eat your way through Montreux and Vevey yet? 😉 Also, don’t miss what to do while you are there!
‘Til next time…
Trimm Travels,
Nice information, I would love to go there.
Hi Tim, thank you! It’s a beautiful place I highly recommend!
Yum, yum, yum!!!
Hi Heather!
I was in Montreux in my youth, 1981. I fell in love then and pray to return some day! It was great to see your intel and how the area has grown.
My favorite memory was on the hillside atop the town – there is a red mountain car that took us atop that hill where we found a quant pub, with ICE!
Keep going and keeping us informed. Best to you Heather!
Hey Kelly! Yes, Montreux is SO beautiful! Definitely try to get back, you would love to see it again! As for the mountain you went up, was it Rochers de Naye by chance? I have it in another Montreux post on the site 🙂 I will definitely keep going, thanks for reading Kelly! 🙂
