Santorini Sailing and Sunsets
Thank you to Sunset Oia for hosting me. As always, all opinions and recommendations are my own. This post also contains affiliate links. You can read my full disclosure policy here.
One thing Santorini is known for is its sunsets. Let’s be clear…the island has absolutely gorgeous sunsets! However, it’s also known for its beautiful coastline and water views. Last fall, I got an amazing opportunity to visit Santorini and we spent a gorgeous day on a catamaran sailing to beautiful points around the island. The excursion culminated in watching the sunset while out on the water! This is Santorini Sailing and Sunsets!Sailing
Sunset Oia
We sailed with Sunset Oia and the day was perfect!
After boarding our catamaran, we were off on our adventure.
How could a day on the water, lying in the sun, visiting beautiful beaches, eating great food and ending with the sunset NOT be perfect??
Red Beach
Our first stop was Red Beach for swimming and snorkeling.
The water, the beach and the rock formations were very striking in color!
White Beach
Our next stop was at White Beach for swimming and eating a traditional Greek meal of pork kabobs grilled right there on the catamaran! We also had shrimp, Greek salad and bread. Also included were both alcoholic and nonalcoholic drinks. I couldn’t have asked for better, fresh food. It was phenomenal!
As we were leaving White Beach, I saw a heart in the rock formation. Do you see it?
Hot Springs
Our third stop was at a hot springs location where you could swim and take a mud bath.
It was a very interesting and quirky place!
Grand Finale
As we were sailing to the spot where we would watch the sunset, we caught beautiful late-afternoon views of the island.
Our last stop of the adventure was the most perfect place to watch the sunset…
and it most definitely delivered! It was a very unique experience witnessing the sunset out on the water with interrupted views in Santorini!
This was the highlight of Santorini for me. Sunset Oia definitely knows how to do a catamaran excursion in a way that will have you wanting to do it again! This is exactly how I left…wanting to do it again! They even provided round-trip hotel transfers! If you are going to Santorini, put this on your itinerary! If you are going in later October like we did, you might want to bring a light jacket as the wind can get a little cool!
Sunsets
Here are the incredible Santorini sunsets we had for four out of our five days there!
Day One
On our first night, I admit, I took an insane amount of sunset photos. This one is from that iconic location with the blue domes!
Okay so I took several from that location, but the colors were always changing…
and becoming more vibrant.
Finally, the clouds cleared a bit more and revealed this!
Those ever-changing colors were astounding!
Day Two
The second day got off to a great start…
and finished powerfully!
Day Three
The next night we had dinner at Esperas. A fabulous place to eat dinner, it also provides these views of the sunset!
It changes so fast…
This was my favorite of the night!
Don’t hesitate on those photos (or blink) because they go fast!
Day Four
This one was from our sailing adventure!
Hope you enjoyed this and if you’re headed to Santorini, definitely sail with Sunset Oia and don’t miss all the brilliant sunsets this island has to offer! Also, be sure to check out Scenic Santorini!
Where is your favorite place to watch the sunset in Santorini?
‘Til next time…
